Up until this year Cyber Monday has been a huge newsworthy event, everyone goes back to work and realizes that they were too busy eating turkey to buy anything at the Black Friday sales so they go nuts online buying up every deal they can find.

Things are changing!

Not only are stores opening up earlier and earlier, I joked with my wife that Black Friday 2012 will be held on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving next year, but the cyber Monday deals are now starting on Sunday. This is going to give a huge advantage to people who are tech savvy and at their computer today rather than waiting till they go to work.

Consumer Burn Out
There was some talk that people are getting burnt out with all the deals, Black Friday 2011 saw many of the big name stores opening at midnight which meant to stand a chance you had to be in line by 8pm (or a lot earlier) and that meant that many people would have had to leave their family.  The stores were still packed but I wonder just how many buyers decided that their family were more important than the 40 inch TV that they didn’t really need anyway.

With the increased push to get people to buy during the Thanksgiving Day Sale, then black Friday, then Cyber Sunday and Cyber Monday, will people eventually become numb to the “deals” ?

I know we have started to think that if we miss todays deal it doesn’t really matter too much as we will be able to get something very similar next week. We bought a 32 inch TV the week before Thanksgiving, we could of saved $20 if we waited till the Day After Thanksgiving Sale but we made the choice that it was worth paying the extra $20 so we did not have to deal with all the aggro.

Will shoppers feel the same about the Black Friday 2012 deals, they are just too much trouble to bother with?

Black Friday 2011 TV Deal

Well lucky for you my wife has collected all the TV info she can find and put it into one easy to use spreadsheet. My advice is to look at the spreadsheet and then look at the prices this Sunday as we have seen prices cheaper than Black Friday on some TV’s. Now you have the Black Friday TV Deal 2011 information early you have time to go and research about each brand. You can make an informed decision rather than just running into the store full blast and hoping the TV you pick up is a good one.

Don’t buy on size alone, the hz matter, the higher the hz the faster response time the TV will have. If you play lots of games on your TV then you really do need a fast response time. My last piece of advice is don’t buy your hdmi cables at any of the electronics stores, they will make more profit on those cables than on the TV in many instances

The First column is the description, the 2nd column shows the pre tax price and the 3rd one shows where to buy it. Don’t forget that many stores are opening at midnight so you could be home with your new TV set up before 1am!

Every year during the day after Thanksgiving sale, the same items seem to become available at a bargain price. These items are games, the easy bake oven, anything Barbie or remote controlled. Target will have remote controlled cars, remote controlled trucks and remote controlled helicopters available.

Target stores are expecting to sell a great deal of games for kids during the day after Thanksgiving. These will include Chutes & Ladders, Candyland, Monopoly, Memory and Simon. Games are always a great gift, and it’s almost a race to see which store will have these games at the lowest prices. Of course, Walmart will match any advertised price, so by taking the Target ad to Walmart, the price will be matched and all shopping can be completed at one location. The problem is that hundreds of other holiday shoppers will be doing the same. Would it be easier to pay the additional dollar for less hassle? Nevertheless, Target promises to have spectacular sales during Black Friday.

The Barbie Townhouse is always a big seller during the day after Thanksgiving sale. In addition this year will be the Disney Ultimate Dream Castle. This item will give Barbie a run for her money during this holiday shopping season. This Ultimate Dream Castle stands over 3 feet tall and will have a themed room for each Disney Princess. The 7 piece Disney Princess doll collection also promises to be a huge seller and would go really well with the Ultimate Dream Castle. Kohls Thanksgiving Sale

I love Kohls and this year they have done some really special things in their Day after Thanksgiving Sale ads, not least is the increase in Kohls cash back vouchers that we mentioned previously.  They are also opening the doors at midnight instead of their more usual 4am, this is the first year that so many retailers have done this but it may just work to their benefit.

I for one do not want to get up at 2am to line up for 2 hours but I can join the line at 10, be done by 1am and be in bed at a sensible hour. So you may see me in line at Kohls After Thanksgiving Sale this year!

There is such an over supply of TV’s that there are sure to be some real deals on TV’s during Black Friday. Once a TV is produced it costs money to store it and the technology is getting older day by day so there comes a time when the TV is out of date and no one will buy it.

So while many items will be available cheaper than ever before during the Thanksgiving sales it is worth keeping an eye on prices in the run up and if you see a deal that you like , buy it. Most stores have a 2 week return policy so you can always take the stuff back if you know there is a dramatically better deal coming up

Already, Target Stores have released over $200 in toy coupons. These can be found in their toy catalog as well as Target.com/toyscatalog. Target also offers store coupons which can be “stacked” with manufacturer’s coupons for an even greater savings on shopping during the day after Thanksgiving sales.

Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us are offering 10% cash back on purchases made during the holiday season up to $50. Additionally, members who spend a total of $200+ will receive a free 2012 rewards super savers pass for Toys R Us and Babies R Us, which is valued over $100. The Super Savers Pass includes exclusive savings for each month of 2012. These cash back and rewards offers will run from October 30 through December 24. Obviously, this will include all of your purchases made on the day after Thanksgiving sales and cyber Monday.

Kmart.com has printable coupons available which could also be used toward holiday shopping. These are manufacturer coupons and will work great when purchasing some toys and baking supplies for Thanksgiving. More coupons will become available throughout the holiday shopping season, so keep checking for upcoming toy offers.

Many coupons can be found by simply searching the internet. Hasbro and Fisher Price have released coupons have arrived in your local Sunday newspaper. If you missed these, then by searching for a coupon clipping service, the coupons could by mailed in time for shopping on the day after Thanksgiving.

For smaller gifts and stocking stuffers, try shopping at a drug store. The toy selection is much smaller, but discounts are available if purchasing more than one item. For example, toys may be $19.99 each, but if you buy 3 or more, then the price drops to $16.99 each. Popular drug stores for purchasing stocking stuffers are Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid. For each of these stores, coupons are available online and can also be “stacked” with manufacturer coupons. By waiting for a sale, perhaps on the day after Thanksgiving, these coupons could be stacked to purchase items for little or no money. During the holiday shopping period, these stores offer many gift sets and great deals on these sets. These are also perfect for white elephant gifts, secret Santa or even as a holiday gift to your neighbor, post office worker or teacher.

Being aware of the specials during the holiday shopping season can save you a lot of money. Combining these deals with coupons can give you an even greater savings which may mean the difference between having presents under the Christmas tree and paying the mortgage. Toys r us opened at 10pm last year and it must have been a huge success as they are doing it again this year. Target and Macy’s are opening at midnight which means that you can lineup get your shopping done and be home in time to get everything wrapped and hidden away before the kids even know you are gone.

I am beginning to wonder if more and more stores open at midnight (or before) for the Day After Thanksgiving Sales 2011 will we end up having to actually move Thanksgiving back a day just so there is that space again. Maybe we will end up eating Turkey on Wednesdays in a few years, shop on Thursday and then go back to work Friday. It does not sound like fun to me but the way the stores are going I can really see it happening.

Why open up at the stroke of midnight? The only reason I can think of is to try and get a jump on their competitors. With so many stores selling the same or nearly the same items at the same price (or close to) the only edge they have is to get you in the door earlier. If I want a 42 inch TV and I can get it at 4 stores I will go with the one that is most convenient for me and requires me to lose the least sleep.

Netflix and other video streaming companies are going to become more and more popular. Why buy a DVD or Blu Ray when you can watch it as often as you want by just turning on Netflix. The monthly cost of Netflix is around the price of buying one new DVD a month yet you can watch as many films as you want to.  Buying a Blu Ray player that has the capability to stream Netflix at the thanksgiving sales is a no brainer. Go for the models that allow for direct connection rather than wireless, it may sound like fun to have no cables but the reality is that the speed on a wireless connection is much lower so your picture quality will be worse.

Ipads
Let me say this once more, There will be no half price ipads available during the black Friday sales. No matter what you may want to happen or hear about on forums, Apple will not allow anyone to sell their big seller as a loss leader. The best you can hope for is a gift card or some freebies, that being said getting a $50 gift card on a $500 purchase is giving you an effective discount of 10% and that is not to be sniffed at.

Tablet PC
Tablet pcs deals are the area that I think will be huge during the  2011 Day After Thanksgiving sales. So many companies are chasing after the Ipad that they are sure to get into some kind of price war just to be able to say they have market share. The company that will be able to kill it is Amazon, there is word that they are coming out with their own tablet in autumn and it will be using the android operating system. Since they already have their own app store they will surely integrate that into the pc and then they will be just like Apple. You will never really have to leave your Amazon environment, you will be able to get books, music and apps all from Amazon.

Big TV’s
Ok this is one of those items that everyone now just expects to be on sale for Thanksgiving. There is a limit to just how big a TV people will be able to fit in there house, I mention this as I don’t see any other thing that will stop there being bigger and bigger TV’s on sale every year. Last years black Friday sale featured a TV that was 50inches and I expect that the 2011 thanksgiving sale will include at least one sixty inch TV. The price of the average TV seems to be staying stable at $400, the size and features are increasing though.

If you are looking for a big TV then there really is no better time than Thanksgiving.

Computers
Apple are the one company that never seem to get into the whole discounting for Thanksgiving swing. So if you want to buy a mac you will have to just look for companies that offer extra items or upgrades rather than massive discounts. Windows based PC’s are another thing, there are so many companies selling them that 2011 will be the same as 2010 with fierce competition to get you to upgrade to the latest op system with all the bells and whistles.

Streaming Netflix to your TV is HUGE, and it is going to become even bigger. Being able to watch films and old TV shows whenever you are ready really is a massive benefit. No more adverts and no more waiting for the repeats.

60hz refresh rate is just about acceptable for a 40 inch TV, but if you are going for anything bigger then you really should get a TV with a higher refresh rate.

Listing all the models, sizes and prices is the easy but you need to know what you are looking for

Screen Size – don’t just buy the biggest TV and hope that is ok, measure how much distance there will be from the TV screen to your seating. If it is only 6 or 7 feet the a 50 inch TV will be so large that it will over power you. Watching TV is supposed to be fun, not give you the feeling that the TV is coming to eat you.

Refresh Rate – 60hz is the lowest you should consider and in a 40 inch TV anything less than a 120hz refresh rate will seem very, very sluggish.

DPI - If you are getting a 40 inch TV or larger then you should look at a 1080dpi set, if you are only getting a 32 inch one then you should be ok with a 720.

It is actually cheaper than the 32 inch TV that is in the same advert.  If you are trying to find a TV deal on black Friday that beats all the rest I think Target have just provided that.

46 Inch TV for $449

Admittedly $449 is a lot more than $298 but if an extra 6 inches will matter in your life then this may be the right TV for you.

Best Buy 50 Inch TV $699

Best Buy – Panasonic 50 inch TV for a penny shy of $700 , again a pretty amazing deal, but is that 10 inches worth more than double the cost?

The only way I can see that you will be able to find a better TV on sale during the day after Thanksgiving sales is if the Walmart day after thanksgiving ads pull out all the stops and go crazy just so they can beat Target. As soon as the Walmart offers are available I will update this page to show it.

The other place to watch out for is the Amazon deals, sure you can’t take the TV home and watch it there and then but you also don’t have to line up in the cold.

I normally shy away from recommending anyone buy a TV during the Black Friday Sale as the numbers are normally very limited and lining up for a few hours just to find they have sold out can be very disappointing to say the least.

This year is clearly going to be different. You can get a 40 inch TV and a Sony internet ready blu ray player for $400 which is less than you would pay for just the TV shown here normally. That is a crazy TV deal on black Friday.

I am off to start emptying out the penny jars.

Walmart,kmart and Toys r Us have already released their Christmas toy books. Not all of the “sales” are really sales at all. In fact some of them are dearer than they were in the normal sales.

One thing you could do is give the books to the kids, then sit down on Thanksgiving Day (after they are all in bed) and compare the notes with the sales and see what is going to be on offer. The kids still get the toys they like and you save some money.

I will never forget the lines in the toy isles during the black Friday 2009 sales , both at Target and at Kmart. I think the 2010 thanksgiving sales will see longer lines and more empty toy isles than either of the last 2 years.

The economy has still not really recovered but people are tired of saying no to their kids so this year will be a big one!

So we have been looking into getting a blu ray player with internet connection, we can then watch stuff from Hulu,YouTube and netflix (and probably more places as they become available) on our TV as it suits. We are waiting for the day after thanksgiving sales as I think we will see some real bargains in the blu ray player and TV’s so big they won’t fit in your door isle at best buy and walmart this year

Why would I want to pay for Hulu and netflix when I also pay for cable..well that is another post altogether..

I found out that Sony are now doing a blu ray player with Google TV build in..

I don’t think so and I will tell you why, it is just too new..

I imagine that they will do a small discount but not the door busters that we have come to expect during the day after thanksgiving sales.

You can save time and buy online! I am not talking about what is now known as cyber Monday. I mean get up on the last Friday in November turn on the pc and place your orders online. You won’t ever have to leave home and in most cases you won’t pay that much more.

Sure you may not get exactly the same deal that you would in store but think of shopping in the warm instead of lining up for hours and freezing! The other downside is that you will have to wait for a while to get the items, they will either do direct to store so you can go and pick it up after the holiday sales madness has finished or you can have it delivered to your home.

Shopping from home can really save you time and sometimes that is more valuable than money..

Black Friday is a huge income every year and that income is too hard to resist so now we are getting “false black Friday”  ads.

Sears are the first but I do not think they will be the last to send out ads that include mention of black Friday in the hopes of getting you into the store. I have written plenty of copy for products to know that they are only trying to leverage the relationship we see between “black Friday” and “save money” so you take more notice of what they are offering.

Don’t totally discount the offers they are putting in front of you but you also need to look with a critical eye. Some of the deals may be the best you will see all year but who knows?

I do not think Sears will be the only ones doing this, I would not be surprised to see Walmart thanksgiving ads that aren’t really for that day, Walmart normally releases their ads around the last Sunday prior to the big day.

Not long to go now till the ads appear!

Because Target have already started selling them and now Walmart are getting onto the gravy train as well.

If they both have it then you are sure to see some competition to get as many buyers as possible to buy from them rather than Best Buy or Amazon.  Word on the street is that Walmart will start stocking ipads from the 1st November. This gives them just over 3 weeks until Black Friday, so they should be able to sell out a couple of times before the big rush.

Since Apple are tight about pricing it could well become the battle of the gift cards. Who is going to offer the better deal, I think that a $50 gift card will be standard and a $100 one if you buy the top end model through the target thanksgiving black Friday ads isn’t out of the question.

The question you need to ask is what will make you buy one rather than wait for the 2nd generation model. Buying 1st generation electronics always has a risk factor as there are almost always issues with them which are fixed (usually) in the 2nd generation models.

While the apple ipad is nice looking and of course it will always appeal to Apple FanBoys, is it really more use to you than a netbook or a laptop?

What about the new range of Google Android powered tablets that are coming to market? Will any of those be available at crazy prices during the Day After Thanksgiving sales?  If you like the idea of a tablet to use for your on the go computer needs then just know that the iPad is not your only option.

Although it may well be the best deal available this black friday!

The general chatter is that many retailers will throw everything they have at customers and they will throw it in early. Once someone comes into your store you want them to buy everything they can and do it early.

During the 2008 black Friday sales retailers were left holding onto stock  that they had brought in especially for the event. This will not happen in the 2010 sales, stores will be watching their inventory levels very tightly to make sure they are not left holding onto anything.

This means that shoppers could be disappointed if they decide to stay in bed rather than getting up and going shopping early. While this may not happen with lower priced items, kettles and toasters, it could well happen on things like limited edition netbooks.

If stores are having items made especially for the day after thanksgiving sales they will be doing the eternal juggling act of buying enough to supply people but not so many that they are holding many of them after the holiday weekend.

The heavy metal band Metallica are releasing a new concert set, on cd and limited edition Vinyl.

“Live at Grimey’s,” will only be available through independent record retailers. So it may take some finding if you don’t live near a indie music shop, but I can’t imagine many of them doing the kind of crazy opening hours that we will see from the local Target and Walmart stores.

No need to get up at 2am so you can be in line for a 4am opening. Maybe call around to see what time they open, whether they will have copies of the album in the format you want and ask if you need to preorder.

If you are a metal head then this really is a must have addition to your collection and I am pretty sure it is one of the few Day After Thanksgiving Sale items that will be worth more than you paid for it in a year.

The price tag on Amazon is around the $1300 mark as I am looking so it isn’t the cheapest laptop available but it is comparable (at least price wise) with Apple laptops so it isn’t outside the realms of believe that someone would buy one.
Toshiba libretto Dual Touchscreen Laptop

Are you going to see any of the Toshiba Libretto laptops available at crazy prices during the day after thanksgiving sales? I don’t think so, it is too new and they are selling quicker than they can produce them right now so why bother doing any kind of discounts?

It is a great idea and I think that within the next few years we will see laptop style computers become less common (maybe just used by power users on the road) and more and more people will be using Tablet computers which will use software stored in the cloud.

Contrary to popular belief Apple Ipad didn’t start the tablet model but I think that they have popularized it and that is a good thing, now all we need to do is wait for other computer companies to produce better models at cheaper prices.

Personally I think the Toshiba Libretto looks great but from reader reviews I think I will wait for the 2nd generation model before I buy it.

It is quite likely that they will have an adverse effect on the sales, I will explain why I think this..

Most big stores , Target, WalMart,Kmart and Sears for example, will order in some items especially for the thanksgiving sales. Things like special ltd edition netbooks and even smaller games are produced with nothing else but selling them as cheap as possible during the day after thanksgiving sales.

Fisher price toy recall won’t affect that kind of item but as so many things are being removed from the shelves does that mean that the toy isle will be empty come the last Friday in November?

It is now October so that gives fischer price and the stores about 6 weeks to get new items ordered, delivered to stores and not least, featured in the thanksgiving ads that everyone waits for. Can they do it?

There is too much money at stake to not do something. But I dont think any of the items listed in the recall , you can see a list of fisher price recalled toys ,were ever going to be the top sellers for thanksgiving so we can probably stop panicking.

So what does this mean for the Day After Thanksgiving 2010 sales?

Huge TV’s Cheap

That is basically what we can expect to see as soon as the black friday adverts start appearing.

Part of this glut is caused by the new 3D Tv’s that are starting to become more prevalent in every store. The thanksgiving sales 2010 may be the chance to upgrade to 3d that many people have been looking for. On the other hand do we really need to go 3D while the technology is so new?

One thing about the day after thanksgiving sale 2010 is that you will see plenty of TV’s for you to choose from. But will you be suffering with buyers remorse by Cyber Monday?

Before you start thinking about buying the biggest TV you can find give some thought on where you will put it and about all the extras you may need to buy. Hanging a TV that weights 70lbs on your own isnt really something you want to attempt.

Let me explain my logic a bit here.

3D TV
Tv’s are constantly getting better while keeping the same price. A few years ago the big deal was a 32 inch TV for $500, now you can get a 40inch TV for around the same price.

So my guess is that rather than keep on offering bigger and bigger TV’s the companies are going to try and entice us into buying into a whole new market. Getting a bargain 3D TV may seem a great idea until you realize that your Blu Ray DVD player may not play the discs, you will need to buy 3d TV glasses and you will want to buy every movie you can find in the new format.

If you are an avid movie collector you could well end up with a film collection consisting of VHS,DVD,Blu Ray and Blu Ray 3d versions of some films!

Netbooks -netbooks/notepad computers/desktop computers all will be on sale but I think more places will try and get the absolute cheapest model of netbook they can. Last year kmart had a netbook that was around the $100 mark, will someone do a $99 netbook pc in the day after thanksgiving sale 2010?

Washing Machines – White goods are constantly getting cheaper and as forward facing models become more popular due to their energy efficiency and how darned cool they look they will come down in price.

Computer Monitors – I think that like TV offers we will see 24 and even 27 inch computer monitors on offer for Black Friday 2010 and especially on Cyber Monday 2010 . One of the big things that will get mentioned is how easy it is to run dual monitors using Windows 7, so you don’t need to get a new pc just get a new pc monitor.

Clothes – these are a consumable and we keep on consuming. I think we will see lots of $2 T Shirts at Walmart,Kmart and even Target in the 2010 day after thanksgiving sale . Add to this all the deals on jeans and shoes and I think clothes may well be the next big item for everyones trolley.
These won’t be the only items that will be deals to good to miss but I think these will be the higher end items that catch peoples attention and get lots of traffic.

The word (it may be wrong of course) is that the first 500 Target shoppers will get a free reusable shopping bag. It is good that Target want to encourage people to use reuseable bags, and of course they benefit as people keep coming back for more shopping.

When you carry around a Target shopping bag you are giving them free advertising so when you leave their store and go out to Kmart in the afternoon carrying your free Target shopping bag it is good for them.

How long will it take them to get through 500 bags? Not long I am guessing and also would you want to be the member of staff trying to hand them out, i know I wouldn’t.

While I am no shopping expert I do know that getting in front of women who are rushing towards the lowest prices of the year is not a good idea!

If you look at the typical day after thanksgiving ad you will see huge TV’s, Washing machines, eco friendly dryers and just about every electrical item you can imagine.

The photos will be huge, the discounted price will be in a very bold font and then in the smallest print possible which you will need binoculars to see (they are on sale at your local sports shop which is handy) it will say something like “While supplies last” or maybe the worst one of all “Minimum 2 per store,” “No rainchecks” or “All items are available in limited quantities.”

If a car dealer put a advert out for a car at a silly price then as soon as he sold one the price went up we would all go nuts, he would be featured on every local TV consumer show yet if Sears, Walmart, Target and the rest of the big boys do it then its fine.

I don’t know of any possible fix I just know that it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially if I get up at 2am and line up for 2 hours in the cold.

Well Walmarts kitchen appliances are $4 while Target has them at $3 which I suppose is 25% less but still a bargain.

One thing I thought was weird when I looked at the Walmart was that it says the prices are 5am till 1pm, but then I have heard that they are going to be open all night. So will you go in at 7pm Thanksgiving day after all the family go home and crab the big screen LCD TV that will be dropping in price at 5am then go and sit with it in a corner fighting off all latecomers!

Maybe there is a business model there, if you are a big guy then offer your services as a product minder for people at Walmart to make sure no one else snatches the bargains once you have them in your cart.

If they are open all night I would love to see how they are going to make sure the bargains dont all get picked up and carried around the store for hours on end. It has to be better than sitting out in the cold for hours on end.

Maybe every Black Friday Walmart Sale item will be in one part of the store and the gates will lift and 5am and then the cage match begins over the Blu Ray DVD player!

Over the last few weeks the Walmart attorneys have been getting a run out, as black friday got close all sorts of sites got messages saying “Don’t post our black friday ads or you will be in for a spanking” (ok maybe I am paraphrasing just a bit).

The release date for Walmart Black Friday ads was set to be Monday 23rd November 2009 and woebetide anyone who posted anything about it before then. They were hoping to play the Internet game, being the last to announce their Day After Thanksgiving offers builds anticipation and when they do release it the whole world goes nuts for it.

All sounds sensible right..it is their ad and they want to control it and they are able (and willing) to throw their weight around to stop anyone they want. Enter CNN stage right..

Basically CNN decided they were going to release the 2009 Walmart ad and that is all there is to it. Most of us internet types are one man bands, we don’t have proper offices let alone attorneys. CNN don’t have that problem, they have huge offices full of attorneys and I think they may have actually benefited if Walmart had tried to go the court route.

So while it isn’t ok for me to post the Walmart Thanks giving ad it is just fine for CNN to do it.

I can’t decide what that means, but it means something and I don’t think it is the freedom of the Internet..

However if you are looking for a bargain price on Snuggies or some cheap toys for the kids then Walgreens is the place to be. It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of being able to buy a 52inch TV for $499 but at walgreens you can get toothpaste,shaving foam and shampoo for FREE.

While you may get excited over the huge TV, in these tough financial times lets not forget how important saving money on the day to day essentials is.

In amongst all the madness of black friday shopping take some time to look at the walgreens ads and save some money on the basics.

For most of the year the big box stores make a huge thing out of the fact that they price match. You go into Best Buy show them that the local Walmart is selling a Sony TV for $399 and they will price match, that is the basic idea (i am sure there are some rules I have missed but that is it in a snapshot).

So some people will be thinking rather than getting up at 3am to be in line at Target by 3.30 ready for their 5am opening I will go to kmart who don’t open till 7am and ask them to price match.

On any other weekend of the year this would be a sound plan however it won’t work on Thanksgiving weekend, the stores do not price match from the sheets that they call “door runners” (thanks to Cameron for teaching me the lingo).

So you will need to either get up very early or stay in bed and just pay the extra $20. I know which I am picking, give me the duvet back..

We have already put up a small list of what is on sale at target black Friday But we have just seen a couple of great deals.

They are also having lots of houseware items on special and many of the big sellers from the 2008 Black Friday sales are being shown once again but at a even lower price.

Nintendo Wii

You may be able to find deals almost as good as the one from Dell, but I don’t think we will be them any cheaper than $180 for the normal Wii.

Now if you have your heart set on something special like the Nintendo Wii sports bundle then you may really have to do some shopping around to find a real discount.

The problem is (well it isn’t really a problem for Nintendo) that the video games console is just too darned popular. All the time the wii is selling strongly we are not going to see any major discounts on it.

So if you see the nintendo Wii for $179.99 then snap it up is my advice.

There really isn’t any store that I can think of that isn’t doing some sort of sale during the day after thanksging long weekend. Even some of the small local stores are getting in on the sales fever.

Obviously the big chains have huge sales going on which feature just about every electrical item you can think of.

The important thing when you look at the sales is to make sure you are buying something you want, there is no point in buying something just for the sake of it.

If you are looking for a Bargain TV for your day after thanksgiving bargain you will almost certainly find something to excite you as it appears every store will have at least one on sale.

If you are looking for a bargain Nintendo Wii, well you will sort of be in luck. Dell have already been selling then at $179.99 which is $20 lower than the msrp but I don’t think you will find them any lower than that as there is just too much demand.

Sears have already started doing “Black Friday Sales” which will run every weekend up until the real thing. So you may be able to get a good deal well before we ever get to the Thanks giving sales, if you know what you are looking for that is.

Start making a list now of what it is you want to buy and the price that you consider it to be a good deal, we all have a price in mind when we go shopping. if you find a laptop at $349 it is a good price but if you find a $299 laptop deal then you may consider that to be the must have price.

I think that if you are looking for anything electronic this year (apart from the popular video consoles) you are going to be in luck as they are one of the items that need to be sold as they go out of fashion so quickly.

Who now would buy a laptop with xp on it when there are now so many with Windows Vista and Windows 7 on for the same price? The same goes with TV’s they are evolving and improving so quickly that the shops have to sell them while they are still relevant.

So far I have seen Sears ads and the Tv’s in there look pretty good, you can also get a further $10 off anything you buy over $50 so that covers some of the sales tax at least.

I am yet to see what the big boys like best buy, target and WalMart are offering in the way of TV deals during this years thanks giving sales but I will make sure to add a post as soon as I find them.

Black Friday 2009 at Staples looks like it will be just as exciting. Instead of making us all wait until the day before they are cleverly leveraging the power of Facebook and gradually announcing their offers.

At the moment the ones that are getting me all hot and bothered are these 3

The other thing I really like about Staples day after thanksgiving sales is that they don’t start till 6am, which is still early but at least it isn’t as early as Old Navy which I believe are opening at 3am this year!

We have already had the Christmas in July sales now we are having the “early Black Friday sales“  which are being advertised as if they will be better than the real sales!

Amazon and Wal Mart have already been selling xbox 360 arcade consoles for $199.99 with a $100 gift card included. Sure they didn’t have many of them on offer but they did have some at least.

I have heard that so many people applied on Amazon it shut their system down for a while. Many people didn’t get in quick enough and that caused some PR problems I understand.

That is one of the problems with the Black Friday Sales, hundreds of people lining up for what may only be 6 laptops or TV’s. You can end up with a lot of very upset customers as you can imagine.

So maybe shopping early is a good solution, you don’t have to get up at some ungodly hour and wait with everyone else in the cold to get what you want.
